Mars Area Centennial School sixth-grader Lexi Park and Mars Area Elementary School fourth-grader James Park, both first-year members of the Butler County 4-H Poultry, were recognized for their Market Turkey. Lexi’s turkey, Spot, and James’s turkey, Tom, were awarded Grand Champion Market Turkey and Reserve Grand Champion Market Turkey, respectively.
The pair have been raising the turkeys since they were hatched through the poultry club in April 2026. James’s turkey weighed in at 39 pounds, 10 ounces; and Lexi’s turkey (38 pounds, 6 ounces) was the first turkey ever to be sold at auction at the Butler Farm Show.
