Mars Area Elementary School third-grader Luke Carlson, was selected to compete as a member of Team Pennsylvania at The Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament, to be held June 28-July 5 in Edmonton, Alberta, Can.

Carlson, a forward for the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 2016 MacKinnon Team, is among the top hockey players to be selected for the team, which is made up of athletes from Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virgina, New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia, and three import players.

The United States forms seven teams of youth hockey players from across the country for the annual U10 tournament. To be eligible, players submit to a three-year tryout and evaluation process.
