Mars Area Elementary School second-graders prepared for the opening of the 2026 Winter Olympics by participating in their own Olympic games on Feb. 6.

The second-graders joined in versions of various Olympic events such as curling, using dust mops and bean bags, and mogul skiing with hula hoops and pool noodles. Other events included figure skating, hockey, and skeleton.
