Students and staff members at Mars Area Elementary School donned their best rock & roll gear, as the school joined in an annual Rock Your School event on Oct. 2.

Students in second through fourth grades participated in a variety of rock & roll and music-centered activities that called upon their mathematics and reading skills, such as researching their favorite musicians or calculating how many fans attended an artists concerts in a year.

Rock Your School is part of a national Get Your Teach On movement that encourages teachers to create educational experiences that engage students and bring learning to life in the classroom.
