Elementary School Security Protocols, Procedures

Mars Area Elementary School has established new procedures for dropping off forgotten school materials/lunches and picking up homework, when students are absent.

If you are in need of dropping off forgotten school materials/lunches:

  1. Please park in a marked space in the parking lot and walk to the front door.
  2. Ring the bell to enter the vestibule, and a secretary will buzz you into the vestibule.
  3. Once in the vestibule, you will see a set of shelves labeled grade 2, grade 3, grade 4 and a stack of post-it notes and pens.
  4. Use a post-it note and pen to write your child's name and homeroom teacher, stick it on the item to be dropped off and place the item on the correct grade level shelf.
  5. Exit the vestibule.
  6. An office staff member will retrieve the item and deliver it to your child's classroom.

If you need to pick-up homework:

  1. Follow steps 1 & 2 above.
  2. Your child's homework will be labeled and on the corresponding grade level shelf.
  3. Retrieve your child's homework and exit the vestibule.
