Mars Girls Youth Basketball Association’s Third Grade Girls Gold Basketball Team took first place in the 2025 Pittsburgh Youth Basketball League (PYBL) Championship.

The team won two consecutive playoff games, defeating Pine Richland in the semifinals and Penn Trafford in the final game. The team had an overall PYBL record of 10-2

Team members include Mars Area Elementary School third-graders Janie Halliday, Avery Kreit, Ada McCurry, Annie Rowe, Kaia Sanata, Charlotte Schuller, Leah Turkovich, Brooke Vukovich, Quinn Walther and Evelyn Wiley.
