Message from the Superintendent (03.06.25)

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

This message is to inform you that Mars Area School District Elementary School Bus #21 was involved in an accident this morning (Thursday, March 6) along Three Degree Road.

As per District protocols, 911 was immediately called and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene. All students, who were on the bus at the time of the accident, were evaluated by emergency medical personnel and their parents/guardians have been contacted directly.

Any students, who sustained injury and required further medical assistance, were transported to the hospital. Those students, who showed no signs of injury and were determined by EMS to be “not injured,” were placed on another bus and continued their journey to school. Upon arriving at school, these students were checked by the School Nurse before reporting to class.

Throughout the school day on Thursday, March 6, and Monday, March 10, social workers will be available for any students who may need assistance. In addition, while an In-Service Day is scheduled on Friday, March 7, and students will not be in school, the District’s guidance counselors will be available, if needed.

The District would like to thank our first responders and school personnel for their quick and diligent response to this accident. In addition, we appreciate your patience and cooperation as we make every effort to safely transport your child(ren) to and from school.

Any specific questions or concerns may be directed to the District's Transportation Office at or [email protected].

Sincerely,

Dr. Mark Gross, Superintendent
Mars Area School District
