Third-graders in Ashley Wassum’s class at Mars Area Elementary School took on the roles of various famous individuals as part of a Wax Museum activity on Jan. 10.
The students were asked to select, research and write a report about a famous person. The third-graders selected sports stars such as Sydney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins player, and Alex Morgan, former women’s professional soccer player; singers Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift; historical figures including astronaut Neil Armstrong and nurse Florence Nightingale; and more.
At the culmination of the project on Jan. 10, the students invited parents/guardians and other family members to a “Wax Museum,” where they offered a brief biography about their chosen famous persons. For more information, call (724) 625-3161.
