McMonigal began his career at Mars Area in 1997 as a third grade teacher at Adams Elementary School, before moving to the current Mars Area Elementary School. During his time at the school, he also served as a sponsor and co-sponsor of the Children’s Theater program.
Prior to joining the District, he served as an elementary teacher at Washington County Public Schools (Hagerstown, Md.). He holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Slippery Rock University.
