Mars Area Elementary School collected $20,958.81 as part of a Kids Heart Challenge fundraiser to benefit the American Heart Association, held March 8-April 9.

In addition to collecting donations throughout the fundraiser, students learned about the five steps to proper heart health, while participating in heart healthy activities during their physical education classes. Students also had the opportunity to donate $1 to participate in various theme days.
