Mars Area Elementary School is seeking donations of various items for the school’s #bethekindkid Community Night, to be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday Feb. 19.

All donated items will be used to complete several community service projects that will benefit various local charities, including Butler Meals on Wheels, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, The Lighthouse Foundation and St. John Community as well as homeless shelters and veterans’ organizations.

The event will also feature a “Pie in the Face” Corner, where attendees can make a nominal donation to toss a pie in the face of participating principals, teachers and school police officers. All proceeds will benefit Adams Area Fire District and Middlesex Township Volunteer Fire Company.
