Mars Area Elementary School’s annual Food Drive collected 1,915 items to benefit The Lighthouse Foundation food bank (Middlesex Township).

The collection, held May 20-24, was led by third-graders in Jessica Semler and Sarah Sondej’s classes who are learning about the importance of volunteers and volunteering in their social studies lesson. Throughout the project, the students gave speeches about the drive, created posters, collected non-perishable food donations, and graphed the results.
