Mars Area School District’s elementary schools (K-6) are holding the school’s individual fundraisers to benefit the American Heart Association, as follows:
- Mars Area Elementary School — Through Tuesday, Feb. 14. Donations will be accepted online at https://www2.heart.org/site/TR?pg=company&fr_id=7556&company_id= 386809 or via the via the Kids Heart Challenge App.
- Mars Area Centennial School — Through Friday, March 10. Donations will be accepted online at https://www2.heart.org/site/TR?pg=company&fr_id=7555&company_id= 380202 or via the via the American Heart Challenge App.
- Mars Area Primary Center — Through Friday, March 10. Donations will be accepted online at https://www2.heart.org/site/TR?pg=company&fr_id=7556&company_id=380551 or via the via the Kids Heart Challenge App.
Throughout the fundraiser, students will be learning about proper heart health, while participating in heart healthy activities in their physical education classes. Students will also be asked to collect donations for the American Heart Association.
In addition, students will have an opportunity to participate in several theme days:
- Friday, Feb. 10 — Crazy Socks Day — Students may wear crazy socks
- Friday, Feb. 17 — Hat/Crazy Hair Day — Students may wear a hat or don crazy hair
- Friday, Feb. 24 — “Wear RED for Heart Health” Day — Students are asked to wear red colors.
- Friday, March 3 — “Jog Your Mind & Exercise Your Heart” Day — Students may wear exercise clothes
