Mars Area Primary Center, Mars Area Elementary School and Mars Area Centennial School will celebrate Read Across America Week, Feb. 28-March 4, with the following theme days:
- Monday, Feb. 28 — “Reading JOGS the Mind” Day — Students may wear exercise clothes to school.
- Tuesday, March 1 — “Snuggle Up and Read” Day — Students may wear pajamas. (Primary Center — Students will join in field trips to Mars Area Public Library from 9:15 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
- Wednesday, March 2 — “Read Your Shirt” Day — Students may wear a shirt with letters or words. (Primary Center — Brian Richards, magician and storyteller, will perform at 10:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.)
- Thursday, March 3 — “Surfs Up for Reading” Day — Students may wear a Hawaiian shirt. (Primary Center — Students will join in field trips to Mars Area Public Library from 9:15 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
- Friday, March 4 — “Book Character” Day — Students may dress up as their favorite book character.
